Description
Already scratching? Trail Relief is a natural after-bite balm that calms the itch fast. It is built for the moment after a bite, not before. No DEET, no cortisone, no synthetic filler.
We slow-infuse tallow with plantain and jewelweed, two trail plants long used to soothe angry skin. Then we fold in calendula, chamomile, colloidal oatmeal, and bisabolol. Together they cool the sting and comfort irritated spots.
It comes as a push-up stick, so your hands never touch the balm. Swipe it right onto the bite and go. It absorbs clean, with no greasy mess and no harsh medicine smell.
Reach for it after mosquito bites, gnat bites, and brushes with itchy plants like poison ivy. Keep it in your pack next to Hiker's Friend. One keeps the bugs off. The other soothes the bites that get through.
After-bite balm vs. anti-itch cream: what is the difference? Most creams lean on synthetic actives and water. This balm uses skin-friendly oils and calming botanicals that stay put. For hikers and parents who want a simple, honest option, a balm is easy to reapply.

Why I Started Making Tallow Skincare
Hi, my name is Brian, though around here I don’t mind being called Moose.
I’ve learned most of what I know about skincare from the women in my life, especially my wife and our four daughters, but Moose’s Tallow has truly been a full family project from the beginning.
I started making tallow skincare after a serious health scare forced me to rethink everything I put in my body. Once I eliminated processed foods and focused on real ingredients, another question came up: if what we eat matters that much… what about what we put on our skin?
With a busy home full of people I love, that question mattered a lot. When my daughters told me they were already using tallow for skincare, I decided to learn how to make it myself.
What began as a small project to make better skincare just for my family to bless them eventually turned into something much bigger.
