Tallow from Beef Suet (Locally Raised)
At the heart of every product we make is tallow rendered from high-quality beef suet, sourced locally whenever possible. Suet-based tallow is uniquely rich in skin-compatible lipids and naturally occurring fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K—nutrients that closely mirror the structure of human skin. This similarity allows tallow to nourish deeply, support the skin’s natural barrier, and lock in moisture without clogging pores. Unlike heavily processed plant oils, properly rendered tallow is exceptionally stable, long-lasting, and highly effective. It is not a filler or trend-driven ingredient—it is a time-tested, premium foundation chosen for performance, integrity, and results.

AMTicide Coconut (Coconut-Derived Preservative Blend)
AMTicide Coconut is a naturally derived preservative system used to help keep products fresh and safe by preventing the growth of bacteria, yeast, and mold. It also contains fermented radish root and is chosen as a gentler alternative to many conventional preservatives. Most of our products are completely waterless and do not require preservation, but formulas containing water or water-soluble ingredients must be properly protected for safety and stability. We use this ingredient carefully and only where necessary, including in products like Sleep Tight Magnesium Tallow and our Sugar & Oatmeal Polish.

Arnica Montana Infused Oil
Created by slowly infusing arnica flowers into a carrier oil to extract their beneficial compounds. Arnica has a long history of use in topical care and is commonly used in products intended to support comfort after physical activity or daily strain. It is valued for its soothing properties and is used selectively in formulations where targeted skin and body support is desired.

Arrowroot Powder
A lightweight botanical powder used to help absorb excess moisture and improve skin feel. Arrowroot gives balms and deodorants a smoother, less greasy finish while helping products feel soft and comfortable on the skin.

Bakuchiol (Plant-Based Retinol Alternative)
Extracted from the babchi plant, bakuchiol is a gentle, plant-based alternative to retinol. It helps improve the look of fine lines and skin tone without the irritation often associated with traditional retinol.

Bentonite Clay
A mineral-rich clay formed from volcanic ash and valued for its strong absorbing and refining properties. Bentonite helps provide texture, grip, and a cleaner feel in products while supporting oil absorption and overall performance.

Bisabolol
Bisabolol is a naturally occurring compound most commonly derived from chamomile. It is valued for its soothing properties and its ability to support calm, balanced skin. Bisabolol also enhances the performance of other ingredients by improving skin feel and overall formulation harmony. It is included selectively in formulas designed for gentleness and comfort.

BTMS-50 (Behentrimonium Methosulfate & Cetearyl Alcohol)
BTMS-50 is listed on our Sleep Tight Magnesium Tallow label as Behentrimonium Methosulfate (and) Cetearyl Alcohol. It is a gentle conditioning emulsifier that allows magnesium (which is water-based) to blend smoothly with rich tallow and nourishing oils. Without it, the formula would separate or feel gritty and uneven. Despite the word “methosulfate,” this is not a harsh sulfate like SLS—it is a mild, skin-conditioning ingredient widely used in high-end skincare. We use BTMS-50 in only one product on our site because it is the only formula containing water.

Calendula Infused Oil
Calendula infused oil is created by slowly steeping calendula flowers in a carrier oil to extract their beneficial compounds. Known for its soothing and skin-calming properties, calendula is commonly used to support sensitive, dry, or compromised skin. It helps promote comfort, reduce visible irritation, and support the skin’s natural repair process. We use calendula infused oil selectively where its gentle, restorative qualities add meaningful benefit.

Camphor
A naturally derived aromatic compound traditionally used in topical balms and salves for its cooling, invigorating sensation. Camphor is commonly included in products intended to provide a refreshing feel and support comfort for overworked areas of the body. Used carefully and in low concentrations for balance and skin compatibility.

Cera Alba (Organic Beeswax)
Our beeswax is sourced from local beekeepers in Lebanon and Lancaster Counties, Pennsylvania, supporting regional agriculture and keeping our supply close to home. Produced naturally by honeybees, beeswax has been used for generations to protect and condition the skin. It helps form a breathable barrier that seals in moisture while still allowing the skin to function as it should. It also gives structure and stability to balms and butters, making it a foundational ingredient chosen for both its purpose and its history.

Cetyl Alcohol (Plant-Derived Fatty Alcohol)
A gentle, non-drying fatty alcohol derived from coconut or palm oils. It helps soften and condition the skin while giving creams, balms, and butters a smooth, velvety feel—nothing like drying alcohols.

Chamomile Infused Oil
Chamomile infused oil is prized for its calming and balancing effects on the skin. Rich in naturally occurring compounds that help soothe redness and irritation, chamomile has a long history of use in gentle skincare. This infused oil supports comfort and softness and is included only where its calming nature aligns with the purpose of the formula.

Cocoa Butter
A rich, naturally derived butter pressed from cocoa beans. Known for its dense concentration of fatty acids, cocoa butter deeply nourishes and helps lock in moisture while adding firmness and stability to balms and body products. It also contributes a naturally smooth glide and luxurious skin feel.

Colloidal Oatmeal
Finely ground oats traditionally used to help soothe and comfort dry, sensitive, or irritated skin. Colloidal oatmeal helps support the skin barrier, improve softness, and reduce the feeling of dryness while adding a silky, calming finish to formulations.

Essential Oils
Our essential oils are 100% naturally derived and blended in-house to create warm, inviting, and well-balanced aromas. They are used at intentionally low concentrations—typically under 1–2% of total volume—to ensure they remain gentle while still providing a refined scent experience. Each blend is designed to complement the base ingredients rather than overpower them, keeping skin comfort and balance as the priority.

Flavoring Oils (100% Natural & Organic)
Flavoring oils, when listed, are used exclusively in some of our lip balms. These flavors are natural and organic. They are GMO-free, nut-free, and free of artificial colors.

Fractionated Coconut Oil (Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride / MCT Oil)
Our fractionated coconut oil, also known as MCT oil, is 100% pure, cosmetic-grade, and made in the USA. Composed primarily of stable medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), it absorbs quickly, improves spreadability, and leaves a silky, non-greasy finish on the skin. Compared to many other plant oils, it offers superior shelf stability and consistent performance without oxidation or heaviness. This makes it the ideal carrier oil for premium tallow formulations and the primary oil used in most of our products.

Haematococcus Pluvialis Extract (Astaxanthin)
A powerful antioxidant derived from microalgae. It helps protect the skin from environmental stress and supports a more youthful, vibrant appearance.

Jewelweed Infused Oil
Jewelweed infused oil is created by steeping jewelweed into a carrier oil to capture its naturally soothing properties. Traditionally used in herbal skincare, jewelweed is often associated with calming irritated or uncomfortable skin after outdoor exposure. It is included thoughtfully in select formulations designed for skin comfort and recovery.

Jojoba Oil
Jojoba oil is technically a liquid wax ester that closely resembles the skin’s natural sebum. This makes it exceptionally effective at supporting moisture balance, enhancing absorption, and softening the skin without disrupting the barrier. Highly stable and non-comedogenic, jojoba oil is often reserved for higher-end formulations due to its cost and performance. We include it because it works with your skin—not against it—and it is currently used in our Beard & Hair Balm.

Kaolin Clay
A soft, naturally occurring clay prized for its gentle cleansing and oil-absorbing properties. Kaolin helps improve texture, reduce excess shine, and create a smoother matte finish without overly drying the skin or hair. It is commonly used in premium skincare and hair styling products for its silky feel and versatility.

Lecithin
A naturally derived phospholipid often sourced from sunflower or soy. Lecithin helps improve texture, enhance absorption, and keep ingredients evenly dispersed throughout a formula. In products like our Sun Balm, it helps distribute zinc oxide more smoothly and consistently for a more refined application.

Magnesium Chloride (Zechstein Sea Magnesium)
Magnesium chloride is included for its well-known calming and restorative properties. Ours is sourced from the Zechstein Seabed, a deep underground mineral deposit protected from modern environmental exposure and valued for its purity. This form of magnesium is known for its bioavailability and is commonly used in topical applications, where it can be absorbed through the skin. It is often used to support relaxation, ease muscle tension, and promote a more restful state in the evening.

Magnesium Hydroxide
A gentle mineral commonly used in natural deodorant formulations to help neutralize odor while remaining mild on sensitive skin. Unlike baking soda, magnesium hydroxide is generally less irritating and better tolerated for daily use. We use it intentionally to support freshness without disrupting the skin barrier.

Menthol Crystals
Derived from peppermint oil, menthol crystals provide a cooling sensation that leaves the skin feeling refreshed and invigorated. They are commonly used in topical balms, salves, and muscle-support products to create a crisp, cooling effect while enhancing the overall sensory experience of the formula.

Natural Fragrance Oils (100% Natural)
Some scent profiles simply do not exist in nature as essential oils or cannot be safely or sustainably extracted. In these cases, we use high-quality natural fragrance oils to achieve specific notes while maintaining balance and safety. Although they are not essential oils, these fragrances are 100% natural and carefully selected to preserve the character of the scent without compromising the formula.

Oat Oil
A lightweight, nutrient-rich oil pressed from oats and valued for its soothing and moisturizing properties. Naturally rich in ceramides and essential fatty acids, oat oil helps support the skin barrier, improve softness, and calm dry or sensitive skin without feeling heavy or greasy.

Plantain Infused Oil
Plantain infused oil is made by slowly steeping plantain leaves in a carrier oil to extract their beneficial properties. Traditionally used in herbal skincare, plantain is valued for its soothing and skin-supportive qualities. It is commonly included in formulations intended to comfort dry, rough, or outdoor-stressed skin.

Polyhydroxystearic Acid (Castor Oil Derived)
A plant-based ingredient derived from castor oil that helps evenly distribute zinc oxide for smooth, consistent coverage. It improves spreadability, prevents clumping, and gives the butter a more refined, skin-friendly finish. Used only in Sun Balm.

Responsibly Sourced Fragrance Oils
While most of our products are 100% natural, a small number of fragrances are not entirely natural because certain scents cannot be duplicated any other way. When used, these fragrance oils are sourced from responsible craftsmen and held to strict standards. They are phthalate-free, paraben-free, and free of SLS and SLES. Full ingredient transparency is always provided so you know exactly what you’re getting.

Ricinus Communis Seed Oil (Castor Oil)
Pressed from the seeds of the castor plant, this thick, nutrient-rich oil has been used for generations to deeply nourish and protect the skin. Ours is premium-grade and naturally rich in ricinoleic acid, a fatty acid known for its conditioning and moisture-locking properties. Used in small, intentional amounts, it adds lasting hydration and a smooth, protective feel—enhancing performance without heaviness.

Rosa Canina Fruit Oil (Rosehip Oil)
A lightweight oil pressed from the seeds of wild rose bushes. Rich in vitamins and essential fatty acids, it helps support skin repair, improve texture, and give a healthy, radiant glow.

Sea Buckthorn Oil
A vibrant orange oil pressed from the berries of the sea buckthorn plant. Naturally rich in antioxidants, omega fatty acids, and vitamins, sea buckthorn oil is prized for its ability to support skin hydration, softness, and overall skin vitality. It is often used in premium skincare formulations to help promote a healthy-looking glow and nourish dry or mature skin.

Silver Powder
A highly refined mineral ingredient valued for its purifying and freshness-supporting properties. Used in very small amounts, silver powder helps support product performance while maintaining a clean, balanced feel on the skin.

Squalane (Olive-Derived Moisturizer)
A highly stable, skin-loving oil derived from olives. It mimics the skin’s natural oils, helping to deeply hydrate without feeling greasy. Known for leaving skin soft, smooth, and balanced.

Stearic Acid
A naturally occurring fatty acid derived from plant oils. It helps improve texture, stability, and consistency in balms and sticks while adding a rich, smooth skin feel. Stearic acid also helps products maintain structure in warmer temperatures without feeling overly waxy.

Tocopherols T-50 (Vitamin E Oil)
We use soy-free, gluten-free d-alpha tocopherol, the natural and biologically active form of vitamin E. This form has been shown to be more effectively absorbed and retained by the body than synthetic alternatives. Vitamin E serves two essential purposes in our formulations: it supports skin repair and resilience as a powerful antioxidant, and it naturally protects the integrity of the oils themselves.

Ubiquinone (Coenzyme Q10)
Coenzyme Q10 is a powerful antioxidant naturally found in the body that plays a key role in cellular energy and skin vitality. In topical use, it helps protect against oxidative stress, supports skin firmness, and promotes a healthier-looking complexion

Zinc Oxide (Mineral Sun Protection)
A naturally occurring mineral that sits on top of the skin to reflect and scatter UV rays. It provides broad-spectrum sun protection while being gentle and non-irritating, making it ideal for sensitive skin.

Zinc Ricinoleate
A naturally derived odor-absorbing ingredient made from castor oil. Rather than masking odor with fragrance, zinc ricinoleate works by trapping and neutralizing odor molecules themselves. It is widely used in premium natural deodorants because of its effectiveness and gentle skin feel.
